Shay Park Richards attended the Boston University School of Social Work where she earned her Master’s in Social Work. She has practiced in a variety of settings to include hospitals, correctional facilities, outpatient mental health and substance use clinics, as well as receiving her mentorship in a private practice.
The modalities Shay uses include CBT, DBT, positive psychology and creative therapy. She has expertise in relationship therapy, mood disorders, PTSD, substance use disorders, and suicide prevention. Populations she has worked with include: the military, LGTBQ and forensics. She has experience within individual, couples and group therapy settings.
Shay has a strong belief in using a strengths-based approach, working with individuals where they are at. She has a compassionate and empathetic approach, helping to break down any stigmas that might make someone feel skeptical or less inclined to seek help.
